DDU Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24: Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, hereby commences the online application process for the qualified applicants interested to appear in the Research Eligibility Test (RET) for admission to full-time and half-time research courses in various subjects in residential campuses and affiliated colleges for the session 2023-24.

LATEST UPDATES: The DDU RET 2023 (Ph.D. Entrance Exam) has been rescheduled on 10 August 2023 and Admit Card has released on 8 August 2023. Now candidates can download their RET 2023 Admit Card through official website. The DDU RET 2023 will be conducted in offline mode.

DDU Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24 Pattern and Instructions

The Research Eligibility Test 2023-24 Pattern and Important Instructions are given below:

• The syllabus of the Research Eligibility Test in each subject will be of postgraduate level, for which the standard will be decided by the university. This syllabus is available in this article along with a download link.
• The offline test will be of One and a Half hours (90 minutes) consisting of 70 Multiple-Choice Questions. In this, 35 questions will be related to the research method and the remaining 35 questions will be related to the subject concerned.
• There will be no negative markings in the offline test.

Eligibility for DDU Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24

The Eligibility Criteria for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24 is given below:

• The candidates seeking admission for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.) should possess a postgraduate or equivalent degree in the concerned subject from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University/any other university approved by the University Grants Commission.
• The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying postgraduate exam for the candidates of Unreserved and Other Backward Classes (Creamy Layer) is 55%, and for Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy Layer), Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe, and Physically Challenged Category candidates the eligibility is 50%.
• The Candidate should have passed his graduation with Second division or have obtained the required marks fulfilling the guidelines issued by the University Grant Commission from time to time.
• The candidates appearing in the final year of their Post-graduation can also apply for Research Entrance Test but before taking admitted to the research program, they must complete the expected eligibility by passing their Post-graduation exam.
• The candidates who have qualified for the Research Eligibility Test (both Written Test and Interview) of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur for session 2023-24 but have not taken admitted to the Ph.D. program for the session 2023-24, will be exempted from the Written Test of Research Eligibility Test for the session 2023-24. Such candidates have to fill out the online application form for the Research Eligibility Test (RET) 2023-24 and should appear in the Interview in order to take part in the admission process.

Note: If the candidate wants to increase their written test mark, then they have the option with them to appear in the written test of Research Eligibility Test (RET) 2023-24. The maximum marks among the two will be taken for merit preparation.

Procedure for DDU Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24

The procedure for Admission to the Research Programme is given below:

• The Research Eligibility Test (RET) will be conducted in two stages (Written Test and Interview), which will be 200 marks. The written test will be 140 marks and the interview will be 60 marks.
• The syllabus of the Research Entrance Test in every subject will be of postgraduate level and its standard will be decided by the university.
• Candidates who get 50% marks in the Written Test will be eligible for the interview but SC/ST/OBC(Non-Creamy Layer)/Disabled(40% or more disabled) candidates will be given 5% relaxation.
• The Written Test will be of 01:30 hours duration with 70 multiple choice questions. In this, 35 questions will be related to Research Method and the remaining 35 questions will be related to the subject. There will be no negative markings in the written test.
• The selection process of the candidate will be carried out as per the Research Ordinance of the University.
• Common merit will be prepared for RET-qualified candidates of sessions 2022-23 and 2023-24 organized by Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.

DDU Ph.D. Admission RET 2023-24 Weightage to Candidates

Weightage will be awarded in the research eligibility test as follows:

• A weightage of 05 percent will be given to the candidates selected by the UGC-CSIR, JRF/NET, GATE, and UPSLET candidates.
• Candidates who have obtained a Masters’s degree from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University will receive a 05 percent weightage.
• A weightage of 10 percent will be given towards of teachers, officers, and staff of the university.
• A weightage of 05 percent will be given to teaching and non-teaching staff in affiliated/ associate colleges.

Note: In any case, the maximum weightage will be 10 percent.
